The reduction of vehicle weight, often referred to as lightweighting, in the automotive industry is primarily driven by legislation to reduce CO2 emissions. However, lighter vehicles operating with smaller cleaner powertrains will still not be enough to meet the latest European regulations – some degree of electrification will also be required.  The additional weight of electric motors and associated systems also needs to be offset by lighter weight materials to maintain vehicle handling and performance.

Notus manufactures a full range of epoxy resin prepreg systems designed for both autoclave and out of autoclave curing.  Notus epoxy prepregs are suitable for structural parts, body panels and interior parts as well as clear coated aesthetic components.  In addition, a rapid curing resin system for press or compression moulding has been developed and will be launched in the very near future.

Notus automotive prepregs can be supplied with a massive range of multiaxial and woven fabric reinforcements in carbon, glass and aramid fibres. Materials are available with customer specific tack levels and with a range of complimentary adhesive and surface films.
